Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, arrange release, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the correct public office directly for those matters.

Jeff Davis Official Records Route

For a current Jeff Davis County custody question, begin with the sheriff. The official page is the source for the contact information and its custody-notification link. The research did not locate published sheriff records hours, a dedicated request form, a fee chart, or a local roster, so confirm hours and procedure by telephone.

Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office
Sheriff Victor Lopez
105 Court Avenue
P.O. Box 1061
Fort Davis, TX 79734
Phone: 432-426-3213
Fax: 432-426-3937
Sheriff's Clerk: Lauri Lindquist, Lauri.l@jeffdaviscounty.texas.gov

For an existing booking, transfer, release, or photo record, address a written Texas Public Information Act request to the Officer for Public Information or chief administrative officer at this office. Ask for electronic copies and a cost estimate. If the sheriff confirms that a regional facility received the person, ask that facility which office holds its intake record.

Court and Custody Follow-Up

Booking and court files are different records. The official District Clerk page identifies the following local route for a court or docket question:

Jeff Davis District Clerk
Jennifer Wright
111 N. Front Street
P.O. Box 398
Fort Davis, TX 79734
Phone: 432-426-3251
Fax: 432-426-3760

The County Clerk phone is 432-426-3968. The 394th Judicial District serves Jeff Davis with four neighboring counties, so call before visiting and provide the full name, date, court, and cause number if known. For state correctional custody after sentencing, use the official TDCJ offender-information route. Federal or ICE locator tools apply only when that separate custody layer fits.

Where to Start

Choose the official route that matches the question. A location in Fort Davis or Valentine does not establish a separate city booking system, and a report in local news is not a custody confirmation.

  • For current custody, contact the sheriff or use its official notification link.
  • For a booking sheet, transfer record, or photo, use a written public-information request.
  • For a case result, contact the appropriate clerk or court.
  • For a possible warrant, call the sheriff or clerk and ask which office can confirm current status.
  • For a state sentence, use the TDCJ locator rather than a county booking search.

The home page gives the full county records path. Questions about this privately operated site may be sent through its available contact channel, but site correspondence cannot replace a request to a government custodian.
